SEO By Industry: Trades, Legal, Healthcare & More
A dental practice and a packaging manufacturer have almost nothing in common commercially, and almost the same underlying search problem. What differs is what you are allowed to say, how long the decision takes, and what one customer is worth.

The list reflects where I have done the most work, not the limit of it. If people search for what you sell, the approach applies. Tell me what you do and I will be straight about whether I am the right person for it.

Does regulation change what you can do?
Significantly, in healthcare, dental and legal. Testimonials about clinical outcomes, comparative claims and certain imagery are restricted. It removes several standard tactics, and because most competitors avoid the effort of working within the rules, the ones who do it properly stand out more.
Does low search volume mean SEO is not worth it?
Not on its own. In business to business sectors like food and packaging, thirty searches a month can be worth more than thousands of consumer searches. The right question is what one enquiry is worth, not how many there are.
My industry has a long sales cycle.
Then content does more of the work and the attribution gets harder, not less real. Legal and B2B buyers decide over weeks of reading. The pages they read determine the outcome, even though none of them show up as the last click.
How much does the approach actually change?
The diagnosis barely changes, because sites fail in the same handful of ways everywhere. What changes is priority. Trades live or die on local search, legal lives on explanatory content, packaging lives on specification level pages. Knowing which lever matters is most of the value.
